The Hunt Cycling is a full service bike-shop, independent journal and collective consisting of three cycling enthusiasts based in Halle Saale. We try to explore, document and share our experiences in the field of cycling and beyond. Besides drinking shandy, lots of riding and intellectual discusses about bike parts and stuff, we enjoy riding with friends and running our showroom and bike-shop located in the center of Halle.
Last years coolest cycling trip was special. We planned a 4-5 day route to the Baltic Sea with a maximum distance of 110km per day. Together with our closest friends we prepared for a comfortable stretch easily managed by everybody. Besides all necessary preparations like putting racks on every sort of bike and getting our gear together we wanted to take things easy. We knew what to expect: lots of smooth riding through flat lands, smooth climbes, sleepy villages we never heard of and gritty forest tracks every now and then. We had a lot of relaxing breaks, punctured tyres, Fläminger Jagd, fun, warm nights and refreshing mornings. The atmosphere just got better and better the closer we get to the sea. The highlights were spotting wild mouflons on a odyssey through unpaved forest paths in the middle of nowhere, sleeping on a beautiful camping-site called “Buntspecht” and crossing a small village called “Ankershagen” where “Heinrich Schliemann” a famous merchant and archaeologist was raised. Everything was a pleasure. There’s nothing better than riding with good friends and having a great time.
