The Hunt Cycling is a full service bike-shop, independent journal and collective consisting of three cycling enthusiasts based in Halle Saale. We try to explore, document and share our experiences in the field of cycling and beyond. Besides drinking shandy, lots of riding and intellectual discusses about bike parts and stuff, we enjoy riding with friends and running our showroom and bike-shop located in the center of Halle.
A few weeks back we build up this eye catching Soma Wolverine touring bike for our good friend Julian. Putting everything together was a breeze and we managed to assemble the complete bike within one day. Since Julian was only in town for two days we wanted the bike to be ready until he leaves us again. Planning the bike was easy since Julian knew exactly what he wanted his Soma Wolverine to be. We ordered all the parts in advance and we had a great day in shop putting everything in place.
The bike features an SRAM Rival 1×11 drivetrain, SRAM Rival disc brakes a Soma touring bar with a beautiful SimWorks Stem. H+Son Hydra rims, Surly Knard 700×41 tyres are the way to go for the wheelset. The darker hours of the day will be lit up by a SON front and rear light combined with a shutter precision dynamo hub. The front rack from BLB already have been used on his previous randonneur type frame. We really love the beautiful SOMA camo handlebar tape perfectly matching with the Brooks Swift saddle. The black and almost hidden SimDrops bar end plugs are another nice little detail we love. All in all a touring build we are proud of. Hopefully Julian will tackle a lot of mountain passes with this one.
